How to Obtain a Fire Permit

If your business has been determined to require a Fire permit, follow these steps:

  1. Obtain a Business Referral Slip from the Office of Finance.
  2. Visit the Department of Building and Safety for zoning approval.
  3. Return the approved Business Referral Slip to the Office of Finance and pay the Fire permit fee
  4. Wait for the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) to grant your Fire permit.

 

How to Obtain a Fire Permit for a Commercial Child Care Center

In general, the Fire permit process includes:

  1. Obtaining a Business Referral Slip from the Office of Finance.
  2. Visit the Department of Building and Safety for zoning approval.
  3. Return the approved Business Referral Slip to the Office of Finance and pay the Fire permit fee
  4. Wait for the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) to grant your fire permit.
  5. Once Approved, the Office of Finance will issue the Fire permit and mail it to the applicant.
