The table below lists the businesses with Temporary Approval to sell Medicinal or Adult-Use cannabis and cannabis products; please check back regularly for updates.
As part of a joint effort between the Department of Cannabis Regulation, the Department of City Planning, and the Office of Finance, an interactive map of locally authorized businesses was created for public use. **Note: The sale of products related to industrial hemp and/or cannabis oil (CBD) derived from industrial hemp is not regulated by the Department of Cannabis Regulation, but you must still complete this attestation form and submit it with your completed business tax application.

Beginning January 1, 2018 business taxation of cannabis activities changed from the sole taxation of medical marijuana sales to include all facets of cannabis business operations. The existing L050 Medical Marijuana business tax classification ceased to exist on that date and the existing quarterly business tax classifications (L701, L702, L703, L704, L706, & L708) have been replaced by the following tax classifications:

The taxation of these activities will be done initially on a quarterly basis and then move to a monthly reporting basis in July 2019. Click here to renew now.
The first MONTHLY reporting is due August 1, 2019 and is delinquent after September 3, 2019.
Cash Payments over $1,000 - Businesses paying cash in excess of $1,000 are required to make an appointment for payment at Los Angeles City Hall - 200 N. Spring Street, Room 101, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Walk-in payments will be asked to request for an appointment.
Money Order Payments (40 or more) - Businesses paying with 40 or more money orders can do so at all three branches BUT are required to make an appointment.
Cash or Money Order payment appointment requests may be made by email or phone at least three business days in advance (but not more than a month in advance) of the desired appointment time. You may contact us via email at finance.csd.appt@lacity.org or by phone at (213) 978-1540. An Office of Finance representative will respond at least 2 days prior to the scheduled appointment with confirmation and additional instructions.
Note that check, money order (39 money orders or less), and credit card payments can be made at all three branch office locations and do not require an appointment.
Accounts that receive their DCR license/permit temporary approval after 7/31/2018 are retroactively setup to 1/1/2018. To avoid interest and penalty on your Business Tax requirements, you MUST file and pay your business tax within 30 days from the approval date shown on the DCR invoice.

Important Information Regarding Address Change
The Department of Cannabis Regulation (DCR) would like to remind you that address changes and other general business updates need to be approved and processed by DCR prior to submitting the request to the Office of Finance or other City Agencies.
For address changes, you will need to email DCR staff (DCRLicensing@lacity.org) and provide the following information:
- Statement of Information form from the Secretary of State showing new address
- PDF Copy of Government issued ID (should match the ID for person who picked up the original L050 BTRC)
- Current Lease Agreement (showing new Business Address)
- Previous Lease Agreement (Showing old Business Address) or a letter of termination from landlord
Businesses applying for an address change shall be subject to the following rules:
- All authorized cannabis activities may only be conducted at one location.
- The applicant's proposed business address must comply with Chapter X Article 5 of the Los Angeles Municipal Code.
- Grandfathering of commercial cannabis activities may not extend to the applicant's new proposed business address.
If DCR approves the address change, the Office of Finance will process the address change in their system and reissue temporary approval documents and BTRC’s.
What To Know About Legal Cannabis Retailers
Prominent Display of Temporary Approval or License
A Temporary Approval or License must be prominently displayed at the Business Premises in a manner that makes it readable from the exterior of the Business Premises.
Prominent Display of Neighborhood Liaison
Business must identify and assign an employee as the official Neighborhood Liaison to receive and address complaints 24 hours a day. The name, contact number and email address of the Neighborhood Liaison must be prominently displayed at the Business Premises in a manner that makes it readable from the exterior of the Business Premises.
Responsible Premises Management
Licensees are responsible for monitoring both patron and employee conduct on the Business Premises and within parking areas under their control to assure behavior does not adversely affect or detract from the quality of life for adjoining residents, property owners, and businesses. The licensee shall properly manage the Business Premises to discourage illegal, criminal, or nuisance activity on the Business Premises and any parking areas which have been made available or are commonly used for patron or employee parking.
Loitering is prohibited on or around the Business Premises or the area under control of the Business. “No Loitering, Public Drinking, or Public Smoking/Consumption of Cannabis” signs shall be posted in and outside of the Business Premises.
The property and all associated parking, including the adjacent area under the control of the Licensee and any sidewalk or alley, shall be maintained in an attractive condition and shall be kept free of obstruction, trash, litter and debris at all times.
Hours of Operation
Retailers may only sell and deliver cannabis goods between the hours of 6:00 a.m. Pacific Time and 10:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
Daily Limits
A retailer shall not sell more than the following amounts to a single adult-use cannabis customer in a single day:
- 28.5 grams of non-concentrated cannabis
- 8 grams of concentrated cannabis, including concentrated cannabis contained in cannabis products
- 6 immature cannabis plants
A retailer shall not sell more than the following amounts to a single medicinal cannabis patient, or to a patient’s primary caregiver purchasing medicinal cannabis on behalf of the patient, in a single day:
- 8 ounces of medicinal cannabis
- 12 immature cannabis plants
A medicinal cannabis customer may purchase an amount of medicinal cannabis consistent with the patient's needs as recommended and evidenced by a valid physician’s recommendation.
The Following Activities are Prohibited at the Business Premises of a Legal Cannabis Business:
- The Sale of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco Products
- The Consumption of Cannabis and Alcohol
- The Issuance of Physician Recommendations or Approvals
- Free Samples
